FullJoy Community

Singing sessions for workplaces

A choir for your team, no singing experience needed

FullJoy Community runs relaxed group singing sessions at your workplace. No auditions, no sheet music. In 2.5 hours, a room of beginners learns harmonies by ear and performs together.

The session

From nervous laughter to a performance you're proud of

We tailor the songs to your group, from feel-good pop and soul to uplifting folk. Here is how a typical 2.5-hour session runs.

  1. 0:00 to 0:20

    Welcome and warm-up

Relaxed introductions, body and breath warm-ups, and gentle vocal play to melt away nerves.

  2. 0:20 to 0:50

    Finding your voice

The room splits into sections and learns the first simple harmony by ear. No reading music.

  3. 0:50 to 1:20

    Building the song

Parts are layered into a full arrangement.

  4. 1:20 to 1:35

    Break

Refreshments and informal chat. Colleagues mix across teams.

  5. 1:35 to 2:05

    Second song and teamwork

A contrasting song with call-and-response, movement and small-group challenges.

  6. 2:05 to 2:30

    The performance

The full choir performs. We can record it as a keepsake or share it with guests, family or leadership.

About FullJoy

Music that builds bridges

FullJoy Community was created by George Montagu, a musician who plays piano, guitar and trumpet. His aim is to use music and singing to bring people together and build bridges between communities.

He believes music is healing, and that when we sing together, we are united. Since November 2023, FullJoy has run regular community sessions, and now brings the same approach to workplaces.

Practicalities

What's included, and what we need

Singing together mixes people who rarely work together and takes seniority, desk and department out of the room. Everyone starts at the same level.

We provide

  • An experienced lead facilitator
  • Song sheets and backing tracks
  • A portable speaker system for backing tracks and voices
  • A planning call before the day
  • Optional audio or video recording of the final performance
  • Sessions adapted for seated participants, hearing or mobility needs, and anyone nervous about singing

You provide

  • A room or open area with space to stand in sections. Chairs are optional.
  • A time that suits your teams: morning, afternoon or early evening
  • A contact person on the day
